Call Me Crazy!

After reading some of the comments from today's post I'm thinking I should do a weekly post on how I'm working to lose my weight to help motivate you to join me. (Or help motivated those who don't need to lose but want to get toned.) So starting on Monday, I will not only post my writing prompt, I will also do a post on my weight, my goal weight, and a picture of what I look like now. Let's Get Up and Get Moving Together!

  2. Wonderful! Let's try and get a bunch of us working together. After all having support with your writing helps you improve, so having us supporting each other will help us get up and getting moving to lose those extra unwanted pounds. :)

  3. I'll join you in this, but I won't tell anyone my weight. NOT brave enough for that! I need to be much better about getting on my rebounder everyday and do a better job about journaling my food. I am proud to say that I've FINALLY made the commitment to eat vegetarian. I've tried several times in the past but never stuck with it. This time I'm going strong!

  5. Ha, ha! You're right, Cheryl.
    But I swear to you, there's a direct link between writer's block and overeating. When I face a blank page, my first urge is to get up and check out the kitchen. I have to consciously stop myself and say, "Stop. That's writer's block taking over."

  6. I'm all for your "crazy" idea. An avid runner, when I'm not writing, I'm running. Being in shape and at your weight goal makes you feel so much better about keeping your butt in your chair - trust me. I went from obese to thin nearly three years ago, and it was one of the best things I did for my writing!

The world of children’s picture book publishing is extremely competitive. If you’re an aspiring children’s author, you need to make sure your manuscript is in excellent shape and has all the elements editors and agents look for before you begin the submission process. Here are five tips to make your picture book manuscript more marketable: Start right with the problem.  Many times beginner writers begin a picture book with back-story. It’s okay to have this back-story in the first draft, but be sure to get rid of it when you edit.
