SFC Newsletter for Writers is Closing

For those who have known me since the beginning of my writing career know I have offered a free monthly, then later every other month a newsletter for writers. In 2009, SFC Newsletter for Writers was even in Writer's Digest as one of the 101 Best Newsletters/Websites. I was so excited and shocked when this happened. Even some of my blog posts I've written for this blog and others have appeared in SFC Newsletter for Writers; along with regular contributions from other writers, tips, market information and much more.

I've enjoyed putting SFC Newsletter for Writers together each issue. I've learned so much from working on it. It's hard to believe I started offering SFC Newsletter for Writers back in 2006 and now six years have gone by. It's been a fun run but with the demands of family and personal writing goals, I have decided to close its doors. I'm working on the very last issue to send to my subscriber list, which has doubled and tripled over the years. It will be sad when I hit the "send" button on this last issue but I see the positive as well.

I'll have more time to devote to my personal writing (maybe I'll get my next book out in the coming months). I won't be on the computer as much and will have more free time for my kids (who are growing up fast). I'll be able to balance my freelance jobs and not feel the stress of the newsletter needing to get out, among other things.

Doing a newsletter is still something I feel every writer should do if they have the time or can pay someone to put out. It builds contacts and your brand. I don't regret producing SFC Newsletter for Writers. I have enjoyed every issue and experience that came from working on it. I'm sad to see it go and maybe one day when I have more time...it will come back.

If you never received SFC Newsletter for Writers or have only been a subscriber for a few months, don't worry as you'll be able to get all the past issue for FREE at the Stories for Children Publishing website.

The issues will be available at http://storiesforchildrenpublishing.com in the coming weeks.

Embracing Intuition, Mediumship, and the Journey to Holistic Wellness

In the recent episode of "The Soul's Whisper," we embarked on an enthralling journey through intuition, spirituality, and holistic wellness, led by Krystal Parry, an evidence-based medium and Reiki master. Our conversation meandered through the corridors of personal narratives and the subtle yet powerful messages the universe imparts upon us. As we delved into our own stories and laughed together, we discovered how engaging with our clairvoyant and clairsentient abilities allows us to gracefully traverse the chapters of our lives, fostering a more profound sense of connection. We ventured into the intricate tapestry that interlinks energy work, metaphysical understanding, and the pursuit of a holistic lifestyle. Krystal Parry illuminated our understanding of Reiki, aligning it with our body's energetic pathways. We pondered the crossroads where spirituality meets the empirical, touching upon the intriguing realms of quantum mechanics and cell biology. Our discourse ve...

What Is A Buhdeedoo - The Writing Mama Show with Virginia S Grenier

The Writing Mama show is on Mondays and hosted by Mom's Choice and Award-winning Author Virginia S Grenier, who is joined weekly by guest authors to talk about the writing and publishing industry, and their books. This week on Monday June 9, 2014 our guest is Dorothy Smaniotto, whose son Alex created and illustrated the Buhdeedoo. Alex is a young man with Asperger's Syndrome. He was diagnosed at the age of 6, but has never let that diagnosis slow him down. As Alex puts it, "I embrace my Asperger's rather than look at it as a disability." Dorothy is the author of her own book called "The Burgundy Journey: Using Hope, Humor & Faith To Conquer Adversity--No Matter What." The book tells the story of her struggles with a rare, incurable autoimmune disease that has caused numerous health issues. It also details how Alex was physically attacked by classroom aides in his previous public school and the emotional scars left with him. For...

Guest Post Wed: A Lighthearted YA Romantic Piece by Scott R. Caseley

Originally, I was going to write something else, but the ideas I had were too dark and too bleak. Seeing as I've done a lot of that lately, I wanted to have a bit of a departure. Though I love my characters in Isosceles dearly, I decided to leave them behind for this piece. I have other characters running about in my mind, so I wanted to give them a little bit of time in the spotlight. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I had fun writing it. – Scott R. Caseley “Silent Cal”             Though, I can’t tell you what I had for breakfast yesterday, I will never forget a certain guy in my freshman class from over twenty years ago. His quiet demeanor made him mysterious, which of course made him even cuter to my fourteen-year old mind.   I first noticed him when our Honors English class got holed up in the school library because they had to repaint our classroom.   Fumes and fate placed us at the same t...
