Heartwarming and Uplifting Picture Book for Children and Adults

From the moment we are born, someone is telling us to be careful. No matter what country we call home or what language we speak, I Love You, Be Carefula picture book that is also designed to be a gift book for adults and children alike—shares these word that follow us our entire lives. The beautiful illustrations capture poignant memories and cause one to reflect on all the “Be Careful” moments in life and smile.

I Love You, Be Careful can be experienced in two ways. The book can be purchased as a print version (in hard or soft cover) for personal use or as a gift. You can also send as an eBook/Card from Amazon.com, Smashword, B&N or wherever eBooks are sold. (Note: There is a page to personalize it as a gift for adults or children.)

Co-authored by sisters Joan Dickow and Judy Snider, the idea of I Love You, Be Careful started from a telephone conversation one day when the sisters talked about wanting their loved ones to be safe and know how much they are loved.

“No matter whether it was our grown kids, husbands or other loved ones our love and concern for them inspired us to write this book,” states Judy Snider.

Judy Snider lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia with her husband, Gil and two silly cats. She is the author of the CWA award-winning children’s picture book, Goldy’s Baby Socks and one of a team of authors who wrote, The Scared Purse.

Joan Dickow stated, “Everyday moments in my life inspire me!”

Joan Dickow is a 20-year breast cancer survivor, a mother, grandmother, wife, friend and sister. She finds that there is beauty all around her and all her good moments and stressful moments inspire her. She lives in Berkley, Michigan with her husband, Fred and their cat, Coffee. This is her first book and she is currently working on her second picture book, The Porch Fairy.

I Love You, Be Careful makes you think about all of the times that a loved one goes off to school, play or work, and you say, “I Love You, Be Careful!" It opens discussion for children to talk and ask questions, and each page presents a different 'be careful' moment for the reader to contemplate. Lighthearted and sweet, this book would be a lovely addition to any library. Cady B. Driver does the book’s beautiful illustrations.

Interview Friday with Mikey Brooks, author & Illustrator

VS: I want to thank you for being my guest here on The Writing Mama today. How long have you been writing? Mikey: I started writing when I was about 14 year old. I lived in a rural town in Missouri and our nearest neighbor was about a mile away. So friends were hard to come by. I fell in love with stories like Narnia and the Wizard of Oz and wished I could escape to these worlds. I had a hid out in the woods that surrounded our farm and I wrote about a world that existed in the reflection of a pond. I have a lot of fond memories about those woods. VS: What inspired you to write your books? Mikey: My children are the inspiration behind a lot of my stories now. Bean’s Dragons is based on my daughter and her imaginary dragons she has flying, parading, and trashing throughout the house. She was kind enough to let me glimpse into her world for just a moment to capture the magic within. My girls also love ABC books and shows. Because I love fantastical creatures, I wa...

Dorothy is the author of her own book called "The Burgundy Journey: Using Hope, Humor & Faith To Conquer Adversity--No Matter What." The book tells the story of her struggles with a rare, incurable autoimmune disease that has caused numerous health issues. It also details how Alex was physically attacked by classroom aides in his previous public school and the emotional scars left with him. For...
